Guess who's a Sisterlock Consultant?

That's right, I took the class in Miami and met several wonderful women.  Since taking the class, I've installed SL for two people which was a great experience.  My goal is to make sure I give 110% to each client.  Stay tuned for more...

Abijah's hair is doing great.  I closed the ends many of them and took down some of the locks that were too big.  My experience with her hair fuels my desire to make sure I establish and install SLs properly.

For my hair, things are going well.  My classmate Handz inspired me to attempt to retighten my own hair...more to come on this as well.

Settling in

I must say, Abijah and I are both enjoying our sisterlocks.  Because I have my own set now, I don't play with hers at much :-)  It seems every month brings a new adventure in terms of styling.  I was never big on getting my hair done, especially have fancy styles.  I love to workout and I couldn't see paying all that money just to sweat it away.  Sisterlocks have been a welcomed blessings.  When it rains, Abijah say "we don't need umbrella's we have sisterlocks."  So far, we've stuck with the routine of going every 4 weeks for re-tightenings.  It didn't take long for me to add up the cost and figure out that I'd better take the class.  So, I registred to take the class in Miami which is being held this month.  I kinda would like to take the class held in Baltimore, which would give me with ability to build a network in my area.  Oh, well!  I can't wait to come home and try out my new skills.

It's infectious

It's been a minute since I posted something, but alot as transpired within a short period of time.  I'm proud to say that I (Latasha-Abijah's Mom) am now a member of the sisterlock family.  I remember when Abijah would ask if she could comb my hair and after she had her sisterlocks installed, I couldn't make my hands out of her head :-)  As a mother, I decided that I needed to project the image that I always tell her is beautiful, so without hesitation I started the journey and my locks were born Decemeber 23rd.

We share the same consultant, which is not the person who installed Abijah's hair.  As a child whose head is still growing, her locks should have been smaller (but they are still gorgeous).  Additionally, the person who installed her sisterlocks didn't go all the  way down which for some may be ok. However, I personally didn't like the look and felt she would have alot of slippage (she swims).

When I checked the SL website and noted we had a consultant less than a mile from the house, I contacted her immediately.  She was heaven sent!  Without asking or suggesting, she began closing the ends during a retightening session.   I knew then that I was dealing with an experienced person and that's where we are now.

My mother had a consultation last week and we will soon be three generations of SL women L0L.  It's been an amazing experience.  I'm come close to missing meeting because I got caught up in a conversation about my sisterlocks.  The person who stopped me and a perm but knew I had sisterlocks as she's contemplated getting them. Today, a woman reached out and grapped my arm and said "do you have sisterlocks".  I was thankfully that she stopped me because I didn't want to appear as a stoker, but had I noticed her as soon as I reached the door.  This is good (my heart is smiling).
